Privacy Policy

Lodat collects very little personal information. This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR.

The plain-English summary

  • We only collect personal data when you contact us (name, email, optional phone, optional company, your message).
  • We use that data to reply to you. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
  • Our website does not use tracking cookies. Server logs hold basic technical data (your IP and browser) for short retention to keep the service secure.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time. Contact us at hello@lodat.co.uk.

Who we are

Lodat (referred to as "we", "us", "our") is a software and IT services provider based in Mansfield, United Kingdom. The data controller for personal data collected through this website is Lodat. You can reach us at hello@lodat.co.uk or on 07885 817879.

What we collect and why

Contact form submissions

When you submit the contact form on this site we collect:

  • Name: to address you correctly.
  • Email address: so we can reply to your enquiry.
  • Phone number (optional). Only used if you choose to provide it, so we can call you back if you prefer.
  • Company (optional). Context for the enquiry.
  • Topic and message: the substance of your enquiry.
  • Submission metadata: your IP address and user-agent string, captured automatically to help us detect and block spam.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services (UK GDPR Article 6 (1)(f)).

Retention: contact-form messages are kept in our email inbox for as long as the enquiry remains relevant, typically up to 24 months. After that they are deleted unless a working relationship has begun, in which case they form part of that engagement record.

Recipients: contact-form submissions are sent via Resend (Resend, Inc., hosted in the EEA). Resend acts as a data processor for transactional email delivery. The email itself is delivered to our inbox at hello@lodat.co.uk (managed under our domain's email provider).

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel, Inc.) automatically records standard server logs including the IP address of requests, the URL accessed, the response status and the user-agent string. These logs are used solely to operate and secure the website and are retained for a short period in line with Vercel's retention defaults.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, third-party tag managers or fingerprinting tools. If we add an analytics product in future, we will update this page first and use a privacy-respecting service that does not require a consent banner.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing. We share it only with the data processors listed above (Resend for email delivery, Vercel for hosting) and only when required to operate the service.

International transfers

Vercel and Resend may process data outside the UK and EEA (including in the United States). Both organisations rely on standard contractual clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office for any such transfers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how we use your data (this page).
  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data deleted where we no longer need it (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing was based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@lodat.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
